KD's K9 Training
Kaidey Guengerich has been training dogs since she turned 5 years old and got her first puppy, a stubborn chihuahua named Cubby. Since then she has dedicated her time to researching different dog breeds, the different jobs a dog can have, and shadowing other professional trainers.
In 2017, she started training family dogs for basic obedience and helping a local dog trainer. In 2019, she started training professionally under the creator of the first retail therapy dog program and becoming an evaluator for the AKC and Pet Partners. This has progressed into a full time career, leaving her Government job in 2020 to pursue training dogs for families and those with disabilities.
Austin Edinson, a Nurse and Veteran of the US Army, shares his wife's passion for dogs and has been helping her train since 2021. He enjoys working on Agility but will often help in other areas of training, especially when a calm dog is needed.
He can typically be seen working with his dog Seely, the first service dog trained by KD's K9 Training. Austin is also an advocate for Therapy Dogs in the medical community, having seen first hand the positive influence they can have on patients.
We cover 3 levels of obedience: Puppy/Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each level adds more challenges and new commands to help your dog thrive!
We offer all levels of the AKC Evaluation: STAR Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, Advanced CGC, and Urban CGC
These can be added to the end of any obedience class for the certificate and title.
We offer a consultation for anyone who needs help deciding what class is the best fit for their dog. The cost of this can be taken out of the final cost of the class you purchase.
Service dogs are trained to do specific tasks to make day to day life easier for their handler with a disability. We strive to help you create a dog that does just this!
Please email us so we can evaluate your dog prior to starting classes.
Therapy Dogs are used to provide comfort to the public in places like libraries, hospitals, assisted living, police stations, court rooms, and more!
These classes vary in price depending on the level of obedience your dog is starting with.
Agility class can help you and your dog form a stronger bond, while getting some energy out and having fun!
Our courses start at learning the basics of Agility and progress to doing a full Agility course together.
We recommend doing Intermediate class first.
Scent Work is designed to help your dog find things on command. This can be specific scents used in trials, antlers or even people!
We highly recommend starting with at least intermediate level obedience before starting this class.
